Visual attention is when the viewer's eye goes straight directly to something/ someone in the picture/view. The eye is caught by something.
2. What is the key concept used to simplify the image of the cactus?
They isolate the cactus which gives the cactus the main center of attention. Decreasing the feeling of clutter all around it.
3. What is the key concept used to simplify the image of the seagull?
The tree behind the seagull wasn't simple it was more complex and once they changed the angle to the sky being the background then that's when the seagull popped out.

It takes up about half of the picture and there's more happening in the front. The nearest thing to the bottom of the picture which will draw the viewer's attention will be the brown car instead of the mission.
