Exploring Depth of Field
What are the three ways to manipulate Depth of Field?
There are 3 ways to manipulate depth of field: Iris, Focal Length andCamera-to-Object Distance.
Click on Iris & DOF. Click on all of the F-stops and compare the pictures and the illustration of the depth of field, explain in your own words how the images change.
The more the numbers increaes the clearer the background and foreground get.
If you use a camera lens with a shorter focal length will it create more or less Depth of Field?
The shorter the focal length then that will create more Depth of Field.
If you move the camera closer to the subject, will that increase or decrease the Depth of Field?
That can either increase and decrease it, it's all just a matter of focus.
What are the three settings to create expansive or great Depth of Field?
You can achieve a great depth of field by using a great camera-to-object distance, a short focal length and/or a small iris opening (high f stop number)
What are the three settings to create shallow Depth of Field?
You can achieve a shallow depth of field by using a short camera-to-object distance, a long focal length and/or a large iris opening (low f stop number)
